My Favorite Protein Green Smoothie

Looking for a high protein green smoothie? This is my favorite.  This protein green smoothie is inspired by a recipe I made a while ago for Pure Goodness on Instagram. I’ve been making the smoothie non-stop since then, so I thought I should share it on the blog as well! I don’t believe that we need protein powder every day to attain our protein needs. Simply eat nuts, seeds, legumes and other high protein foods every day and you can easily meet your needs. However, I love using protein powder in smoothies when I eat them as a meal. I don’t always use it, but I like to have a little protein boost, along with other filling ingredients. If my smoothie doesn’t have enough protein and fiber, I get…

Peanut Butter Strawberry Swirl Nice Cream with Cookie Dough Crumble

I’m finally sharing the recipe for my peanut butter strawberry swirl nice cream with cookie dough crumble! I shared a picture on Instagram last week and many of you have been asking for the recipe since then. Well, here it is! I meant to share it yesterday, but I got sick and spent Friday and Saturday in bed… I hadn’t felt horrible like that in a long time. I’m not even sure what it was, but all I know is that I couldn’t stand up without my head spinning and feeling like I was going to pass out. I’m feeling better today (thankfully!) and I’m finally ready to share this nice cream recipe with you guys! I know that I’m sharing yet another strawberry recipe…

Strawberry Rhubarb & Yogurt Chia Parfait

I’m a dietitian.  I still can’t believe it. I started my job Monday and it still doesn’t feel real. In case you missed it (this post), I just finished my internship and I started working as a dietitian in oncology, psychiatry, cardiology and surgery at the hospital. The first week was all about orientation, but I’m excited to start working by myself next week!  Other exciting news that you may have missed: we’re moving in our new apartment shortly! We still have a week to go before moving, but I already started going through our stuff and started planning how I’ll decorate and organize our new space. I’m obsessed with organization and decor. I love moving so much (most people look at me like…

My Go-To Avocado Toasts + Exciting News!

In 3 weeks, I’ll be working as a clinical dietitian! I got selected to work in cardiology, oncology and surgery in the largest hospital/cardiac center of the province. I’ll be working 4 days a week and I won’t have internship or university projects anymore, which means I’ll be able to spend more time testing out new recipes. I’m so excited for this next step! I’m finishing my internship 2 weeks early and I’ll finally be able to start my career as a dietitian. 5 years of hard work pays off! I still have 2 weeks to go and 2 big projects to finish, which means I have no time to waste. Some meals have helped get me through my last 5 years as a student…

Sugar-Free Breakfast Banana Bread

Banana bread has got to be one of my favorite desserts. Notice here that I said dessert. I’m aware that banana bread is often seen as an “appropriate” breakfast item, but have you ever noticed how much sugar is added to a traditional banana bread? It’s terrifying. I’ll admit that there was a time I did eat sweetened breads for breakfast. In fact, it was my breakfast of choice when I woke up at 5 am to go to swim practice. < — Fun fact, I was once a competitive swimmer.  With that in mind, I wanted to try making a banana bread that would indeed be healthy enough for breakfast. This recipe has been on my mind for a while now and I regret every second I waited before…
