4-Ingredient Chocolate Nice Cream Smoothie

This smoothie. I know that not everyone has a food processor or a Yonanas, so I wanted to make a blender version of my Chocolate Peanut Butter Soft Serve (Nice Cream). You get the same great taste as nice cream, but in the form of a smoothie. Okay, I should maybe call this recipe a shake because it tastes nothing close to a healthy and fruity smoothie… Nope, this recipe tastes exactly like a chocolate milkshake. New Year Tropical Green Smoothie

It’s back to reality this week. Well at least it is for me and probably most students, so I thought I’d share a healthy green smoothie to start the week off right.  Is it cold where you live? Happy Saturday!  I hope you’re all having a great weekend? I actually have an extra long weekend. It’s a long weekend in New Brunswick, plus I went to a nutrition symposium on Thursday morning, so I only worked three days this week. The symposium was SO interesting! They talked about trendy diets (paleo, gluten-free), superfoods, the link between cardiovascular health and dairy products, saturated fats and the DASH diet. It made me love my field even more!  Since the symposium was in my hometown, I took the opportunity to visit my family Thursday and Friday before driving back to Saint John. Glowing Green Spirulina Smoothie

This was an unexpected recipe. I made this Glowing Green Spirulina Smoothie earlier this week with no intention of taking pictures. When I blended the ingredients (without measuring the ingredients of course), I discovered this beautiful mermaid color! I knew I had to share it with you guys!   The only problem, like I said, is that I didn’t measure the ingredients… I did try to recreate the recipe as much as I could and I think I came up with a similar result after two tries! Healthy Digestion Smoothie

I have the most refreshing drink for you to enjoy this summer! I created this recipe when I was at the end of the low FODMAP diet a few weeks ago and I’ve been enjoying it ever since! For those of you who don’t know, the low FODMAP diet is a “diet” recommended for those who have irritable bowel syndrome. You simply avoid or limit certain foods high in FODMAPs (sugars that may not be digested or absorbed well and could be fermented by bacteria in the intestines when eaten in excess.) You follow this for a few weeks and then reintroduce them one at a time to determine if they worsen your symptoms or not.
