February Coffee Break

And just like that, it’s time for our February coffee break! February has been a short, yet busy month around here. Between working 4 days a week at the hospital and working on the blog (and 3 big side projects), I think it’s safe to say that I’ve been busy every minute of every day. On top of that, our wedding is coming up in 7 months (!!) and I’m starting to panic a little at my to-do list. All I can say is I’m so thankful we decided to get married 2 years after our engagement. I can’t imagine doing it any other way. And now, let’s get to today’s coffee break! Workout Schedule It’s been a while since I talked…

January Coffee Break

The first month of 2019 is almost over, which means it’s time for our January coffee break! 2019 is a big year for us and it’s off to a good start. We started the year in California on our big west coast road trip (details here!) and we’re slowly getting ready for our wedding in September and our big honeymoon to come after. All of that, plus lots of travelling, job changes, a possible move and lots of blog projects. Needless to say, it’s a busy, yet exciting year for us. We just came back from a weekend in Vancouver, our second road trip of the month. I was there for a two day course on tube feeding and intravenous feeding – In only a few months, I’ll be starting a…

21 Ways to Eat More Vegetables

Is one of your goals this year to eat more vegetables? You’re not alone. I love vegetables, but I would be lying if I said I reach the recommended serving size every single day. Yes, I do reach that number most days, but not always. So today, I wanted to share some tips on how to sneak in some vegetables to your diet. Because let’s be real, most of us could eat a bit more vegetables. How many servings should you really be eating each day? The recommendation is a minimum of 5 portions. To be clear, this doesn’t mean 5 big salads or 5 large piles of vegetables on your plate. One serving is actually relatively small. How small exactly? Half a cup for cooked or raw vegetables or 1 cup for leafy greens…

Our 12 Day West Coast Road Trip

We’re back from our West Coast road trip and I’m excited to share the details with you! You may have been following along on Instagram Stories, but we left for the US on Christmas day and we just got back last Saturday. It was an amazing and exhausting trip and as much as I enjoyed (almost) every minute of it, I’m so happy to be back home, in my own bed, cooking in my own kitchen. This is a long post, but that’s what happens when you do so much in 12 days. So if you’re not up for reading the highlights of our adventure, feel free to just enjoy the photos. That’s the best part, really? Just imagine Shaun and I in our car, eating Lara Bars and singing along to Disney music…

It’s that time of year again – It’s time to look back at the top 10 recipes of 2018! How is this the last day of 2018? Every year I ask myself the same thing and every year seems to go by faster and faster. I believe my parents and grandparents now when they say time goes by faster the older you get. I really do. So here we are again, looking back over another year of recipes. These are the top 10 recipes of the year, according to you. In other words, these are the recipes that were the most visited and tried this year. So if you’re new to the blog, this is probably a good place to start. This is the second time I share a top 10 list and just like last year, each…
