January Coffee Break

The first month of 2019 is almost over, which means it’s time for our January coffee break! 2019 is a big year for us and it’s off to a good start. We started the year in California on our big west coast road trip (details here!) and we’re slowly getting ready for our wedding in September and our big honeymoon to come after. All of that, plus lots of travelling, job changes, a possible move and lots of blog projects. Needless to say, it’s a busy, yet exciting year for us. We just came back from a weekend in Vancouver, our second road trip of the month. I was there for a two day course on tube feeding and intravenous feeding – In only a few months, I’ll be starting a…

November Coffee Break

I’m here for another coffee break post! In a way, it feels like forever since I last wrote a coffee break post, but then again, November just flew by. How is it December tomorrow already?! For this coffee break post, I don’t have a new recipe, but I can share what I’ve been drinking a lot of lately: My peppermint mocha of course. I’m drinking one as I’m writing this. I can’t get enough of this cozy drink this time of year. If you haven’t tried it already, you need to make it. Trust me, it’s life-changing. I also finished off a new batch of vegan cashew eggnog and I’m planning on making another one this weekend. Another must-try recipe this holiday season. What’s your go-to drink…

Cinnamon Butterbeer Latte

This is how I intend to celebrate Halloween this year: Watching Harry Potter and drinking a cinnamon butterbeer latte. If it wasn’t obvious before, it is now. I love everything Harry Potter. Proof: I have Harry Potter wands in my bedroom that Shaun and I got as a gift from his father. I have two Harry potter decorations on my walls (one with the deathly hallows symbol and the other is a papier-mâché on a canvas using pages of an old Harry Potter book). And of course I read the books and watched the movies countless times. So yes, I love the series and I love it even more this time of year. I’m not sure why, but there’s something about the cozy months that makes me crave those books. Whether or not you like…

Sugar-Free Pumpkin Spice Latte

Welcoming the first week of fall with the healthiest sugar-free pumpkin spice latte. When I think of a cozy fall drink, I immediately think of the pumpkin spice latte… Not because I drink it each year (I drank it a few times before I stopped eating added sugar), but because as soon as September arrives, pumpkin spice lattes are everywhere. The thing is though, they’re typically loaded with sugar, which is why I needed to find a way to make mine at home. So that’s what I did. As I discovered last year, you can blend cashews and coffee together to make the most delicious and creamy drink. Since then, I’ve been experimenting with many cozy drinks, including peanut butter hot chocolate, chai latte, peppermint mocha and mint matcha latte. Now I…

The Healthiest Peppermint Mocha

This may just be the healthiest peppermint mocha you’ll ever see.   I realize that this may be an exaggeration; I have no idea what other peppermint mocha recipes are out there. Nevertheless, this is the healthiest one I’ve ever had. Plus, it’s the perfect holiday drink. Peppermint mochas were always my holiday drink of choice when going to Starbucks. And I don’t know about you guys, but I’m all about making my favorite treats a little healthier. That way, we can enjoy our favorite treats and feel good about it. There’s still place for real treats of course… It’s all about balance.   Are you as excited for the holidays as I am?! Now that my dietetic exam is done, I have more time to relax and enjoy the holidays. This is the…
