Welcome to my January favorites post and happy New Year! I know we’re approaching the end of the month, but it’s still January and I’m hoping you’re all still excited and motivated to cook healthy recipes this year. Sugar-Free Caramelized Banana Oatmeal

Sugar-Free caramelized banana oatmeal. In other words, the best oatmeal I’ve ever had. My go-to oatmeal has always been my peanut butter banana oats. It’s easy, delicious and satisfying and I didn’t think anything could ever replace it as my favorite. That was until I made this caramelized banana oatmeal. I will admit, the fact that it requires one extra dish means I will continue to make my easy peanut butter oats more often, but these oats will be around over the weekends. I can at least guarantee that. Especially on a rainy weekend like we just had. It’s almost the new year (!!), which means it’s time to see which were the top 10 recipes of 2017 on the blog.  Because, why not? These are the most popular recipes this year according to you. In other words, they’re the recipes you loved most. It’s no surprise that most of them are desserts – number 10 being the exception. You guys are like me, you love healthy treats! Healthy Peanut Butter Crunch Balls

I would have shared these healthy peanut butter crunch balls with you sooner, but the truth is, I didn’t have any photos to go with the recipe. That’s the problem with being a food photographer and working full time at another job. You don’t get enough light to take pictures during the week. I developed the recipe earlier this week and I knew I wanted to share it with you guys for the holidays. I know I’m last minute, but at least I got to share the recipe before Christmas! Just before driving home to see our family. And before the freezing rain starts… We’re expecting two storms over the weekend, including 20-30 cm of snow on Christmas day. December Favorites (2017)

Welcome to my December favorites post! My favorite month of the year and as you can see above, we got our first snow! Are you all ready for Christmas?! I’m now done with my Christmas shopping and all I need to do is put everything together, wrap the presents and bake plenty of healthy treats for my family and friends.  I’m spending the next few weeks working (because unfortunately, I’m not at a point in my career where I can get a Christmas vacation). I’m also working hard on the blog, doing some work behind the scenes. The little free time I have is spent in the woods running or in front of my Christmas tree painting. I got 2 extra large canvases from my mom, so I’m hoping…
